Pie and Quiet

Yesterday was Pi day.

So we obviously had chicken pot pie for dinner. Only, true story... the kids and I don't actually like chicken in our chicken pot pie.

So it's really veggie pot pie in chicken broth goop... but it was delicious and after we invented this it turns out we all eat our dinner without complaint!

We followed it up with a home-baked Pi Pie.

It is a refrigerated pie crust and two cans of filling: one strawberry, and one blueberry. We went to the store to buy peach pie filling but they didn't have any so we compromised. I did egg wash the crust and it overall turned out pretty good. And fun to celebrate Pi Day!

Today M is at a day-long spring break science camp. C came to work with me this morning.

He read a book in my office while I got some things taken care of and then we went to Adoration for about an hour.

I took him out for a pancake brunch afterward and now he gets some quality introverting time at home. We ultimately signed M up for the camp because C has had a busy few weeks without a lot of time to recharge his little introverted self. So we figured the best thing for both of them was a day apart doing things that would make them happy.

And that makes me happy. So does the fact it is Friday!! With picking the kids up on Wednesday, it sure felt like yesterday was a Monday. But also felt like a Saturday. It was neither. So... Friday is looking really great!

  1. OK I feel like my kids would eat only chicken - chicken pot pie! Good for you all getting those veggies in. I thought all day yesterday was Friday, so I am very happy that today actually is. You're such a thoughtful mom indulging your extrovert and introvert so well.
