Bubbles and Books

Um... how is January almost over already? No really.

This week has been a whirlwind already. Monday we had a playdate. It was our first outing with no Daddy in 2015 and I think only our second ever. Man to man defense is just so much easier than zone!

If that sounds crazy, what's maybe worse is that Monday was completely centered around the playdate that started at 1:00.  I packed the diaper bag the night before. I laid out outfits. I planned it all out. It went fine by the way. I know you're shocked. I just like staying in my house bubble. I realize that's not super realistic either but for now it works for me. With cold and flu season I fail to see the benefits of massive outings. Overprotective mom award over this way!

Then yesterday I hosted book club. If you've been stopping by for a time it may seem like I host all the time. I really don't, this was my first book pick since last November. But my home has been the location for book club two more times since then because my friends live in small apartments and don't have the room.

We read The Pleasure of My Company by Steve Martin. I was a little nervous because it happens to be one of my favorite books of all time. But the group did seem to enjoy it. Or they were really nice to lie to my face and not ruin it for me.

In case you're wondering, the subject of why it is one of my favorite books came up. My reasoning is that this is a book I can pick up at any time and I know it won't disappoint me. It will always make me laugh and every time I read I am able to glean more from it. It is a witty book written very very much in train of thought style so it is easy to miss some of the little moments. The more I read the more the story makes sense as well.

So that's what this week has been all about so far. :)

And... a gratuitous baby picture from her 3 month shoot this weekend just for good measure.
