So let's recap the Olympics. I LOVED the closing ceremony. I am a huge fan of Marc Chagall so I loved it. Plus the ballet, writers and everything. I still think I'd go to Russia. Very cool. I think that probably NBC should not have sportscasters announce the Opening and Closing ceremonies... they are pretty clueless when it comes to art. (Phantom of the Opera has not a thing to do with Russia but nice try.) Though... The Spice Girls in London were pretty great.
Who says Russia doesn't have a sense of humor?
I liked what I saw of the Olympics. Which wasn't much. NBC decided NOT to interrupt basically any of their everyday broadcasts for the Olympics. So if it wasn't in Prime Time I couldn't watch. And since I don't pay for TV I couldn't watch online either. Kind of pathetic NBC.
But anyway I will get excited for Brazil 2016! Woo!
We had a delightful night out on Friday. We went to see The Lego Movie, dinner with a gift card at Red Lobster and then ended the night with a quick run to the grocery store. Pretty snazzy. The Lego Movie was just fine. I didn't see anything wrong with it, I was just enjoying. There were lots of kids with us in the theater and we of course laughed at completely different times but that's to be expected. I LOVED the Lego ocean, so so cool!

ReplyDeleteLoved the Olympics too. Always feel a bit sad when they are over. Then I think about how old each of my kids will be when they are on again. And then I get even sadder.
Haven't seen The Leggo Movie, but my son helps out at our local theater and says it has been sold out every single time it shows. : )
And a night out here ALWAYS ends with a trip to the grocery store!

I didn't watch much of the Olympics this year either....just couldn't seem to get into them for some reason!
ReplyDeleteDidn't watch the Closing Ceremonies, but caught the tail end of the Tonya / Nancy documentary or whatever it was. Seriously, can we just let it GO? Ugh...and yes, I could have turned the channel, but really there wasn't much else on at 6:30 on a Sunday night. Anyway, I was kind of blaise about the whole Olympics this time, bummed about the Hockey teams and speed skating (what a debacle that was, huh?). Anyway, I did see the Rio promo and can't wait!
ReplyDeleteWe saw the Lego movie as well a week ago and thought it was okay, I guess, I thought it would be even funnier - if that makes sense. But there were some great one-liners and the song was catchy.
